Chris Czaplak graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000 with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Russian. Chris completed the Navy’s nuclear power training program and served on a nuclear attack submarine in Pearl Harbor, HI, where he completed a Western Pacific deployment. He then earned his law degree through the Navy’s Law Education Program at American University, Washington College of Law. Chris spent the rest of his Navy career as a lawyer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He served multiple tours as a defense attorney and prosecutor at duty stations all over the world.
Chris chose to pivot to the private sector after retiring from the Navy. He graduated from UCLA Anderson in 2022 and founded Hill Point Ventures with his Anderson classmate, Punit Dewan, to advise startups, entrepreneurs, and small business owners to help make their visions a reality.
Chris primarily works with startups and small businesses in a variety of industries and practice areas, bringing a blend of law and finance to his roles as advisor, board member, outside general counsel, and fractional executive. He continues to practice law in addition to working on his own entrepreneurial ventures and is admitted to practice law in the states of New York, California, and Arizona.
